What: Showcase program for civic leaders attending the 24th Biennial Japan-America
Conference of Mayors and Chamber of Commerce Presidents.

· Welcome chant and hula by Kumu Hula Victoria Takamine and UH
Hawaiian Ensemble

· Welcome remarks by UH President Kenneth P. Mortimer and East-West
Center President Kenji Sumida

· Panel discussion by UH Urban and Regional Planning experts on
Cities and Globalization

· Chango and Kayageum performed by UH students Myo-Sin Kim and
Mi-Hwa Min

· Shakuhachi performed by UH student Kenneth Lawrence

· Display tables and exhibits presented by a variety of UH and
EWC departments.
Who: More than 200 mayors and chamber of commerce presidents are expected
for this event, part of their six-day Honolulu conference.

The morning program is hosted by the University of Hawai'i APEC Study
Center, UH Community Colleges and UH Office of International Affairs with
the East-West Center, the Office of the Mayor of the City and County of
Honolulu and JACMCCP Host Committee.

Master of Ceremonies is David McClain, Walker Professor of Business Enterprise,
UH College of Business Administration, and co-director of the UH/EWC APEC
Study Center.
