Statement by University of Hawai'i Board of Regents Chair David Ramos concerning coaches contracts, presented during Nov. 14 Regents Meeting "The Board of Regents' Committee on Personnel Relations yesterday chose to defer consideration of changes in board policy that allows fixed-term multi-year contracts for head coaches and athletic directors. "Subsequently, the board's committee, in executive session, approved in principle contract extensions for all head coaches and athletic directors, subject to the submittal, by President Mortimer, and approval of performance standards and criteria to be included in both board policy and specific contracts for head coaches and athletic directors. "The board will take final action on these matters at its Dec. 12, 1997 meeting on the Manoa campus."
