UH Law Student Wins National Writing Competition Susan Serrano, a third-year student at the University of Hawai'i William S. Richardson School of Law, has won the nationwide Critical Race Theory student writing competition. Her article, "Rethinking Race for Strict Scrutiny Purposes: Yniquez and the Racialization of English Only," which was published in the 1997 University of Hawai'i Law Review, was selected by a panel of reviewers. Students from law schools across the country competed for the award. Serrano will receive an expense-paid trip to Yale University Law School to attend the National Critical Race Theory Conference this month. |
