A public meeting on the University of Hawai'i tuition proposal for 1998­1999 and 1999­2000 is scheduled:

Copies of the tuition proposal are available at UH campus libraries, campus provosts' and deans of students' offices and the Office of the Vice President for Planning and Policy, Bachman Hall 110 on the Manoa campus, as well as on the World Wide Web at www2.hawaii.edu/ovppp/proposal2000.pdf.

Comment will be accepted through Dec. 3, after which the UH administration will finalize its tuition proposal and forward it to the Board of Regents for consideration during spring semester. Tuition changes would apply beginning fall 1998.

Proposed semester tuition for resident/nonresident undergraduate students is as follows:

* The proposed non-resident rate requires repeal of part of Hawai'i Revised Statutes 304-4(b); if the law is not changed, tuition will be $244 in 1998­1999 and $252 in 1999­2000.
