UH dean of student services awarded for outstanding performance Alan Yang, dean of Student Services at the University of Hawai'i, received the Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Performance as a Dean from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators' Region VI (Hawaii, California, Arizona and Guam). Yang was honored at the annual conference luncheon held on Nov. 6, in Santa Barbara. The criteria for the award are:   sustained professional service in student affairs high level competence in administrative skills merited stature among and support of students, faculty and fellow administrators on the campus served innovative response in meeting varied and emerging needs of a campus effectiveness in the development of junior staff members significant contributions to the field through publication of professional involvement leadership in university and community affairs.
