Zhang Yanhua will lecture on Chinese Medicine Nov. 18

Zhang Yanhua will address a seminar on "Tuning the Body-Person with Chinese Medicine: An Ethnography on Qingzhi Disorders in the Clinics of Chinese Medicine. Ms. Zhang is a PhD candidate in the University of Hawai'i's anthropology department. Her research investigates the treatment of emotion-related disorders in the clinics of traditional Chinese medicine, particularly how emotions and pathology of emotions are constructed and acted on in real clinical situations. Specifically relevant to the investigation is the Chinese medicine category of qingzhi (emotion-mind) disorders.

The free seminar, sponsored by the UH Center for Chinese Studies, takes place at noon, Nov. 18, in the Tokioka Room (Moore Hall 319) at UH Manoa.
