| A&E special featuring UH Manoa professor to air Jan. 18, 2000 |
The Arts & Entertainment (A&E) channel will air a one-hour program featuring the research of Elaine Hatfield, a University of Hawai'i at Manoa psychology professor. The special, "By Love Possessed," was slated to air on Nov. 27 but is now scheduled for Jan. 18, 2000 at 2 p.m.
"By Love Possessed," which will be hosted by John Corbett, is a program in the A&E Series titled "Love Chronicles." Hatfield says the program is based on more than 30 years of research on love and childhood crushes. She has published two books on the topic: "Love and Sex: Cross-cultural Perspectives" and "Love, Sex and Intimacy."
The program includes interviews with children at Our Redeemer Lutheran
grade school, where Hatfield conducted interviews earlier for her own research.
The special may also contain an interview with UH English Professor Valerie
Wayne.
