 ARCS BINGO NIGHT & SILENT AUCTION

to raise funds for UH science & engineering students
 





What:ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) will host a Bingo Night
& Silent Auction to fundraise for scholarships for students in sciences
and engineering. Since 1974, the Honolulu chapter of ARCS has awarded almost
$ 1 million to nearly 500 UH students. Recipients of 1997 ARCS scholarships
include Christopher Lowe and Gwen GoodmanLowe, whose research on hammerhead
sharks received national attention in a recent Time magazine cover story.
ARCS' goal for 1998 is to provide $65,000 in scholarships for 13 UH students
pursuing PhDs in science and engineering.
