This Way Up Productions, in association with the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and the Student Video and Filmmakers' Association (SVFA), presents the world premiere of Paper Cranes at the 1998 Hawai'i International Film Festival. This short, dramatic film will be featured as "Hawai'i Program #3" (with the documentary Amazing Journey). The festival runs from November 6 to 13 in Honolulu and then moves to the neighbor islands. It's indicative of the level of excellence expected of Kelsey. Kelsey's life choices differ radically from her parents'. With her graduation and impending wedding, will the folding of 1001 paper cranes widen or bridge the chasm between Kelsey and her mother? With Paper Cranes, director Ryan Kawamoto illustrates the forces that clash in any family. The film was produced with the Student Video and Filmmakers' Association at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Running time: 33 min.
