Meet the President and Current Students

High Schoolers, Parents Invited to Take a Sneak Peak at UH

Hawai'i high school students and their parents are invited to an academic showcase night featuring the four core University of Hawai'i at Manoa colleges on Thursday, Oct. 29, beginning at 6 p.m.

The campus' second "Sharing the Excellence" evening features programs in the four Colleges of Arts and Sciences-College of Arts and Humanities; College of Languages, Linguistics and Literature; College of Natural Sciences; and College of Social Sciences-which together enroll the majority of undergraduate students at UH Manoa.

The evening begins with a reception and academic fair at the Campus Center Ballroom and a chance to meet UH President Kenneth P. Mortimer. Information on admissions and financial aid will be provided, and college students attending UHM under the Regents Scholars program will describe their campus experiences. Programs for first-year students will be emphasized.

Families can then attend a one-hour showcase presentation describing programs and majors within the participating colleges.

Hawai'i students identified by PSAT lists as indicating interest in a department with the four core Arts and Sciences units have received invitations to the event. Other students who are college bound are also encouraged to attend with their families. Space is limited, however, so families are encouraged to call 956-7137 by Oct. 26 for reservations or to obtain additional information.
