Adopt a Computer Program What started out as a dream to update the computer lab at Leeward Community College turned into reality for students and faculty in less than a year. Thanks to Leeward CC alumni and the community. The quest for the Pentium 200 computers started last year when Leeward CC professor Kathleen Young discussed the situation with the community advisory committee. Brian Moriki of First Hawaiian Bank rallied the other board members to buy into the "Adopt-A-Computer" campaign. The members agreed to solicit donations from their own companies to help purchase 20 new computers. Leeward graduate and committee member Howard Kong Kam, Jr. of Horwath-Kam & Company went not only to his own company, but to other Hawaii companies as well. By December the group raised more than $14,000. Then Leeward CC matched the raised funds making this dream come true. This is the University Report, I'm Tracy Orillo-Donovan.
