JAIMS-sponsored team wins university business challenge
An international team of MBA students from the University of Hawaii won The University Business Challenge, a business management simulations game for universities and colleges throughout the United Kingdom. The five-member team was the only group from an American educational institute and the only team from outside the United Kingdom. The challenge provided participants an opportunity to act as the board of directors for a brewing company. The team was responsible for making critical business decisions that affect the day-to-day running of the company. The objectives were to maximize profits, enhance customer satifaction and raise employee morale. The teams made short- and long-term decisions on pricing, marketing, production and stock control. They were also faced with real-life pressures such as a recession, rising transportation costs and image problems. This is the University Report, I'm Tracy Orillo Donovan. |
