Stress relief through massage
Do you carry your world on your shoulders? Literally? Does the tension in your back develop into a throbbing pain as the stress of work and family turn into physical pain? Doris Saiki of the University of Hawaii Wellness Council suggests getting a massage. It increases blood flow to tension-filled areas relaxing them and reducing pain. It also helps normalize gland and organ function, reduces fluid retention, improves circulation and adds suppleness to your skin. Massages increase your sense of wellness and promotes health by bringing the body back to normal balance. There are several kinds of massages. Traditional massage uses oils and rhythmic hand manipulation to stimulate nerves and promote blood flow. Shiatsu uses pressure on specific body points to stimulate internal organs. Reflexology applies deep massage to the feet breaking up accumulated crystal deposit that interfere with ci rculation. All three types have been shown to improve health and well being.
