Are You Qualified to Receive A Tax Refund from the Federal Goverment?
Tax season is here and if you file your federal income tax return, you could be eligible to receive more than $3,600 dollars from the federal government. That's according to an extension specialist in family economics at the University of Hawaii. Ron Wall says the Earned Income Credit can put money your pocket if you worked last year and your household income was less than $29,000-not counting any government benefits. The actual amount you qualify for depends on the amount of income you earned and the number of children you have. But even households with no children may qualify if your income is low enough and you were between the ages of 25 and 64 last year. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility for the Earned Income Credit call the Legal Aid Society at 528-3482. This is the University Report, I'm Tracy Orillo Donovan. |
