UH's Center on the Family Has Dad BrochuresThis Sunday is Father's Day and while dads come in all shapes and sizes, one thing's for sure, all great dads share the same traits. A brochure from UH's Center on the Family, lists six characteristics of a great dad. Great dads keep work and family in balance. Here in Hawaii, nearly half the children live with two employed parents. That means sharing the responsibilities for family income and raising the children. Next, great dads play with and care for their children. Dads are not another version of moms. Men are generally more playful and a your involvement has big payoffs for your children. Great dads communicate with their kids. They listen, really listen to what their children have to say. When this happens, it creates those magical moments children remember and cherish. More on characteristics of a great dad on tomorrow's University Report, I'm Tracy Orillo Donovan.
