Financial preparation for marriage pt. 2
Money is not an easy thing to discuss but it's one of the most important things to talk about if you're thinking about making a lifelong commitment. University of Hawaii Family Economic Specialist Ronald Wall says before getting married, both people should work on a projected budget as a couple. What are your income and expenses? What will be your major purchases, your sources of credit? How much will you commit to savings, investments and insurances? Think about your long range goals as a couple. What are you priorities and plans? Finally, who will play what roles in guiding the financial directions of the family? Who will make what decisions? Who will pay the bills, etc.? Wall says the answers to such questions are important, but it's equally important that the marriage begins with open communication. This has been the University Report. Join me bright and early
