U.S. News & World Report places UH law school in top 50   The U.S. News & World Report annual ranking of U.S. law schools issued recently places the University of Hawaii's William S. Richardson School of Law among the top 50 out of 180 U.S. law schools accredited by the American Bar Association. For the past several years, the UH law school was listed in the second tier, just below the top 50. The school celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. It admitted its first entering class in the fall of 1973. Over the years, faculty members have earned national and international recognition for their scholarship and research, and in recent years UH law students have done exceptionally well in national competitions. Anticipating increased last-minute inquiries from prospective applicants, the law school has announced that it will extend this year's application deadline to a postmark date of March 13, 1998.
