Student Volunteer Survey

With a full class schedule, studies, research at the library and perhaps a part-time job on the side, what UH student has time to volunteer?

A survey of how undergraduates engage in voluntary service was done in 1993 and 1996 and here's some of the results:

One-third of UHM undergraduates do volunteer work for the University and the community. Student volunteer are predominantly college age females. The highest percent of volunteers by class were seniors. The percent increased from 61 percent in 1993 to 71 percent in 1996.

Students who volunteer are more satisfied with college than students who do not volunteer. Although equal percentages of both groups report liking college, a higher percentage of volunteers report being enthusiastic about their college experiences.

This is the University Report, I'm Tracy Orillo Donovan.
