Nakamura taught health and physical education at

and Appointments Maui Associate
Professor of Human Services Elaine
Yamashita was elected to an affiliate liaison
seat on the governing board of the 100,000-member National Association
for Education of Young Children.
Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i researchers have been elected to top
posts in the American Chemical Society–Hawai‘i Section for 2004. Andre
Bachmann, is the organization's chair, and Bonnie
Warn-Cramer is chair-elect. Both work in the molecular carcinogenesis
section of the center's Cancer Etiology Program. Ashley
Adleta,
a member of five national championship collegiate golf teams
and former Arizona State University assistant coach, is serving
as interim women's golf coach at Manoa while the campus conducts
a search to fill the position permanently.

UH law student Brian
Duus worked with Kahuku High School's state champion “We
the People” team. The Kahuku students also visited the law school,
where it practiced with the dean, faculty members and other law students.
