7 p.m., and Windward CC on Sun., March 28, 7:30 p.m. The multiple Grammy Award
winner is known for her lyricism, technique and versatility. She has more than
20 recordings to her name ranging from Baroque and Spanish-Latin to jazz fusion.

Film at Hilo
UH Hilo’s Asian Film Festival “A Moving Picture of Asia” premieres
March 22–25 in the University Classroom Building. The festival’s
eight films explore ethnic roots of Asian-Americans and promote inter-cultural
understanding. Featured films are China’s Quitting and Happy Times, Japan’s
After Life and Taboo, Korea’s Chunhyang and Shiri and the Philippines’ Dakada ’70

Honored
Kapi‘olani CC’s Koa Gallery honors ceramist Claude
Horan as its 11th Annual KOA Outstanding Artist and Award Recipient. Horan is
a professor emeritus of art at Manoa. Featured pieces at the Koa Gallery focus
on his one-of-a-kind hand-built figurative ceramic sculptures. Offbeat, funny,
whimsical and downright
wacky, Horan’s work was ahead of its time. The exhibit will be on display
