Hereniko Film Gaining Attention

Manoa Professor Vilsoni Hereniko's film, The Land Has Eyes is being picked up by film festivals around the world. It will close the Hawai‘i International Film Festival spring series onApril 8. Read about academic and author Hereniko in this News@UH feature.

Cloners Meet in Hawai‘i

They have met at professional conferences, but Scottish scientist Ian Wilmut, right, said he jumped at the chance to visit the Institute for Biogenesis Research, scientific home of fellow cloning pioneer Ryuzo Yanagimachi. A Manoa Distinguished Lecture Series speaker, Wilmut also met with faculty and medical school students while in Honolulu.

Honors and Appointments

Hilo Chancellor Rose Tseng will serve on the NASA Education Advisory Committee through February 2006 and the American Council on Education's Commission on Leadership and Institutional Effectiveness through June 2007.

Manoa Professor of Law Alison Conner is teaching at Tsinghua University Law School in Beijing as a Fulbright visiting professor.

Hilo Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Keith Miser chairs the development and fundraising committee of the Consortium for Belize Educational Cooperation.
