Manoa MA candidate Aaron Sala released
his first CD Ka ‘Upu Aloha Alone with My Thoughts. Sala’s
highly acclaimed piano styling is evident on award-winning albums
by Na Palapalai, Raitea Helm, ‘Ale’a and Weldon Kekauoha,
and his creative arranging style has been lauded at the annual Kamehameha
Schools Song Contest.
In this debut album, Sala steps forward to showcase his talent as
a solo artist with an accent on piano and vocal interpretations of
new songs by Hawai‘i composers such as Frank Kawaikapuokalani
Hewett, Kihei de Silva, Randie Kamuela Fong, Keawe Lopes and Kaumakaiwa “Lopaka” Kanaka’ole.
