The ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawai‘i on the Big Island opens its doors to the public, Tues., Feb. 21, 1–4 p.m. ‘Imiloa, which means “exploring new knowledge,” will showcase interactive exhibits, planetarium shows, group tours, a museum store, a restaurant and a full schedule of events. Poetry Reading at HiloIndo-Fijian poet Mohit Prasad holds a reading on Wed., Feb. 22, 6 p.m. at Hilo’s Campus Center 301. Documentary Screening at HiloThe documentary The Twelve Disciples of Nelson Mandela will be screened at The Palace Theatre in Hilo on Wed., Feb. 22, 7:30 p.m. Director Thomas Allen Harris will conduct a question and answer session following the film. The film chronicles Harris’ journey of reconciliation with his deceased stepfather B. Pule Leinaeng (Lee).
