Water Resources
Manoa Professor Chennat Gopalakrishnan co-edited a special issue of The
International Journal of Water Resources Development.
This issue, devoted to water and disasters, features six
original papers on a number of frontier issues with special emphasis
on floods and droughts. It is a global survey and assessment of the causes,
consequences and post-recovery policies concerning water disasters. “Water
and Disasters” features a comprehensive discussion of the 2004 Indian
Ocean tsunami and an article on advances in decision support systems,
both by Gopalakrishnan and UH West O‘ahu Assistant Professor Jason
K. Levy. Other papers deal with major floods and droughts in England,
Wales, China and the western U.S.
The "Water and Disasters" issue of The International Journal
of Water Resources Development is available from the Routledge
website.
