UH Manoa Interim Chancellor Denise Konan. |
Manoa’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources
and Taiwan’s National Pingtung University of Science and
Technology signed a memorandum of understanding to promote academic
exchange. The two institutions have a history of collaboration—CTAHR
researchers visited NPUST to share their knowledge of post-harvest
treatments of fruits and vegetables, fruit fly suppression, plant
pathology and animal waste treatment, and NPUST researchers visited
Manoa to discuss their termite, ornamentals, flowers and plant
pathology research.
An advocate of the partnership was NPUST’s Vice President Po-Yung
Lai, a Manoa alumnus and CTAHR’s former assistant
dean for cooperative extension. Read
