University Health Services Renovation
Renovation of the air conditioning system at UH Services Ma¯noa will begin June 30. The first phase is scheduled to end July 13.
During this period clinical and health education services will continue. The pharmacy and lab will remain open, although some lab tests may be sent to other labs rather than being done at Health Service. The front entrance on East-West Rd will remain open during this phase, and signs will be posted to direct visitors to entrances at the back of the building.
Between July 14 and September 1, construction will be limited to the outside of the building. Students arriving for fall semester will be able to obtain health clearances, immunizations and TB tests, along with all other services. From September through December the project will continue inside; there may be short periods during which the clinic will need to close and specialty services will not be available. These breaks in service will be posted in advance.
Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to continue to use the walk-in services; however, note that there may be days when the clinic is closed. Those needing specialty care should plan in advance if possible, because there may be delays in getting appointments. The Health Service staff thanks everyone for their patience and understanding during this time.

UHM Library Debit Card Update
The library upgraded its debit card system in March of 2002 since replacement parts and components were no longer available. As part of the transition process, the library exchanged the old white cards for the new dark green cards or issued refunds when requested. However, the time has come for us to maintain a single card system, therefore, effective August 1, 2003, Sinclair and Hamilton Library Business counters will no longer accept the old white cards for exchange or refund.   Deadline for submitting Course Reserve lists to Sinclair Library Circulation and Wong Audiovisual Center are, Summer I 2003 - April 17, 2003*, Summer II 2003 - May 16, 2003*, Fall 2003 - July 18, 2003*, and Spring 2004 - November 21, 2003*. *Items that must be purchased can take up to three months to arrive. For Reserves policy and how to put items on Reserves go to http://www.sinclair.hawaii.edu/HTML/reserves/indext.html The Sinclair Library staff looks forward to working with you.
Put your class material on Reserve at Sinclair Library
Besides housing many journals and the music collection, Sinclair is the home to all Reserves at UHM. If you have any material—books, handouts, overheads, and media such as videos, CDs, or DVDs—that would you like your entire class to use, Sinclair is the place to make it happen.
If UHM has limited copies of an item, placing a title on Reserves will make it accessible to all students in a fair manner. Students may save money by utilizing the material at the library instead of having to purchase their own copy. Reserve materials can be from the UHM library or you may provide your own copy.
E-Reserves - Electronic Reserves provide easy 24/7 online access to print materials for class use. Students appreciate this service because they can view documents on the Web anytime, anywhere. Instructors appreciate no more missing pages. Let our E-Reserves staff do the work of making your material available online.
