of Big Island Food
A Taste of the Hawaiian Range Food Show showcases the best of
the Big Islands
agricultural products in Fri., Sept. 26, 68 p.m. at the Hapuna Beach
Prince Hotel. More than 30 of Hawaiis top chefs will create culinary
works with foods including forage-fed beef, lamb, mutton, pork, buffalo and
the signature item Kohala mountain oysters. In addition, farm fresh Big Island
produce featuring specialty desserts, such as fudge cow pies and chocolate

Thrift Shop Sale
The
Womens
Campus Club will hold a garage sale on Sat., Sept. 27, 8 a.m.1
p.m. at the UHM Thrift Shop. Used bikes, household items, clothing, dishes,
office supplies and more will be available. The Thrift Shop is located behind
the Biomed building at the end of East-West road.

Soil
Peter Vitousek will discuss Climate and Soil Fertility in the Hawaiian Field
System in Leeward Kohala on Mon., Sept. 22, 5 p.m. at UH Hilos University
Classroom Building 100. Vitouseks talk will focus on areas used for sweet
potato agriculture and how the legacies of this farming impact todays

Film Lecture Series
The UHM National Resource Center East Asias lecture series East Asian
Film Literacies begins on Thurs., Sept. 25. All lectures will be held 35
p.m. in Crawford Hall 115. The first lecture Regarding Vice: The Non-Innocent
Pleasures of Chinese Popular Film will examine how Chinese film and Chinese
popular film are oriented in the minds of moviegoers. For more information,

The Hawaii Business Education Associations Fall Workshop, Its
