Kapi‘olani Community College student culinary team wins national championship

Kapi‘olani Community College’s student culinary team, also known as Team Hawai‘i, won the American Culinary Federation’s Student Team National Championship in Orlando, Florida, beating teams from Michigan, North Carolina and Pennsylvania for the top honor.

Half century of UH Japanese scholarships celebrated

The Hawai‘i visit by Japan’s Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko included a banquet to honor the Crown Prince Akihito Scholarship Foundation, which provides scholarships for UH Mānoa students to study in Japan and Japanese students to study at UH Mānoa.
