Retired writing faculty member from University of California Santa Cruz needs a place Aug 17-Sept 19. My son, a graduate student at UH, and I fly to Honolulu August 17. New shopping hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Additionally, END OF MONTH SALE on the LAST SUNDAY of the month when the Shop is open from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds from the Thrift Shop fund programs and projects throughout the University of Hawai’i.

BEWARE OF SCAM TARGETING PEOPLE ADVERTISING RENTALS: Please be alert for email scams where the email is not specifically addressed to you and is from a correspondent who says s/he wants to rent something s/he doesn’t describe, at unspecified dates, sight unseen, and is eager to pay in advance. Particularly beware of advance payment by cashier checks and money orders as these frequently turn out to be stolen.
