  • Dear Thrift Shop Donors,
    • We are sorry, but we have been advised by Campus Security and HPD that it is no longer safe for us to continue to leave our back porch open to receive donations. We have had a series of recent thefts and want to be assured that the donations you so kindly bring to us are actually received and placed for sale, as you intend. As you know, everything you donate goes toward University grants and research scholarships.
    • We suggest that, if you have items you would like to donate between our Donations Drop-Off Drives held the last Saturday of each month, you may bring them to us during our business hours, when we can also give you a receipt for your taxes:
      • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
        11AM – 2PM
      • Last Sunday of each month
        11AM – 2PM
    • The UH Women’s Campus Club Thrift Shop opened in 1971 as an ongoing project to raise funds to service the university community, primarily, at first, to raise funds for the Child Care Center on campus for children of students, evolving to its current mission of raising money for University system grants (see Grant Program). Facilities Management found space in the Credit Union, before relocating the shop to its present location. The Grand Opening was October 18, 1971. This year we celebrate 46 years and, as of 2001, $250,000 awarded in grants. We estimate that that figure has doubled in the 16 years since then.
    • WCC members volunteer to staff the shop. We receive wonderful donations, which can be dropped off during business hours for a receipt for taxes, or dropped into our donations drop-off bin located to the left of the shop. Please be aware that items left on our front porch often do not make it into the shop, but are often taken while we are closed. Thank you for your generous spirit and for supporting our vision over the years.
