Goals and Objectives

Goal 1. To develop comprehensive school-based programs that will support all LEP (Limited English Proficient) children and youth. This will be accomplished by the following objectives:

Objective 1. Reviewing, upgrading, and developing classroom assessment tools and curricula.

Objective 2. Providing in-service training to all school personnel with the opportunity to obtain certification in teaching and/or specialization in bilingual/English as a Second Language (ESL) education.

Goal 2. To expand on Likelike's family-based education programs by operating the Laulima Center to serve all LEP children, youth, and their families. This will be accomplished by the following objectives:

Objective 1. Providing support and outreach services to LEP students including newcomer classes, academic tutorials, counseling, and career awareness.

Objective 2. Providing a family education program to LEP children, youth, and their families including parent/child educational sessions, adult education classes, and referrals to community resources.
