Research
Interests:
I
grew up in South Lake Tahoe, CA. For my undergrad, I attended the
University of Puget Sound and graduated with a B.S. in Biology.
After graduation, I traveled to Bamfield, British Colombia to take
classes at the Bamfield Marine Science Centre, where I managed to
work whales into a bird research project. Following a period of
study in Spain, I interned with Cascadia Research, a marine mammal
research group. At Cascadia, I mached photos of humpback, gray,
and blue whales, and assisted with necropsies in the cold and rain.
I spent October 2006 on the Scripps Institute of Oceanography FLIP
ship (look it up; it's cool!). On FLIP, I was exposed to cetacean
acoustics, the field that I hope to do my graduate work in.
