Research Interests:
I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio (yes, it rocks!), and completed my BA in
biology at Carleton College (also rocks!) in Minnesota. Before
beginning with the UH Zoology department, I worked on several research
projects for nonprofit organizations as well as for NOAA Fisheries in
Woods Hole, MA. I am currently studying bioacoustics and conservation
of baleen whales. My research uses suction-cup-attached tags to study
the acoustic behavior of humpback whales off the Northeastern United
States as well as here in Hawaii. I am also a member of EECB.
