Research Interests:

I am interested in all things invertebrate, but most recently in sexual selection and mating displays in cephalopods. The day octopus (Octopus cyanea) in Hawaii is world renowned for its amazing camouflage capabilities, as well as being a popular locally fished species. I am interested in investigating the effects of local fishing efforts on day octopus population sizes and reproduction rates. I have also been working with my advisor, Les Watling, on the morphology of deep sea bamboo corals.
