Research Interests:

As a former fisheries observer and because of the rapid decline in pelagic shark abundances I am interested in mitigation techniques for elasmobranch bycatch in longline fisheries. I am looking into shark repellent metals, chemicals and gear for my thsis research. I also work for the Climate Change and Marine Disease local action strategy. At the moment I am working on the rapid response protocols for coral bleaching, Crown of Thorns outbreaks and coral disease events.
