Roxanne Adams

A grounds manager with the Buildings and Grounds Management Office at UH Manoa, Roxanne Adams’ experience has made her an excellent asset. Working in landscaping and botanical gardens as well as operating her own native plant nursery has made her an expert on native plants around the university and in the community.

She has contributed to a number of improvement and beautification projects around campus. Recently she designed the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management’s Native Plant and Ecosystem Educational Garden in the Sherman Laboratory Courtyard. The garden won the 2005 Betty Crocker Landscape Award for a Community Garden.

Colleagues say she strives to make her landscaping projects meaningful to all staff and students.

The President’s Award for Excellence in Building and Grounds Maintenance honors UH employees who exhibit dedication and sustained superior performance in a maintenance, landscaping, custodial, shop or trucking position.
