Kaua‘i

A speech and music instructor at Kaua‘i Community College, Anthony Kilbert worked for 28 years in the entertainment industry before coming to Kaua‘i to share his knowledge about the business and make a difference in students’ lives.

Aside from teaching, Kilbert serves as an advisor for the Music, Theater and Arts Club, where he has become a mentor for all members. A student says, "His positive energy rubs off on the people he works with, especially the students, and it’s that attitude that enables us to want to listen and learn. We are grateful to him for that."

The Frances Davis Award for Undergraduate Teaching recognizes dedication and demonstrated excellence as teachers of undergraduate students. It was established as a memorial to the late Frances Davis, who taught mathematics at Leeward Community College and UH Manoa for 19 years.
