Phyllis Vidinha is a fiscal accounting specialist in the business affairs office at Kaua‘i Community College. She has more than 30 years of service with the college, beginning in March 1979 as an account clerk. Vidinha maintains a high level of professionalism while handling sensitive and confidential information.

In addition to performing her many duties, she finds time to be involved in other areas of the college. She chaired the employee holiday party and graduation committees, assisted in the college’s program review process and is a Third Generation Community College Leadership Champion. She also volunteers for the End of the Year Bash auction and represents the APT employees on the College Council.

Her colleagues concur that Vidinha’s warm smile and gentle greetings, dedication to detail, organizational skills and energetic sprit are a model for all.

The Kaua‘i Community College Chancellor’s Award recognizes a civil service or administrative, professional and technical employee for outstanding demonstrated work performance, service, leadership and/or fostering of excellence in higher education.
