Stanley Yogi

Stanley Yogi is a custodian with the Department of Buildings and Grounds Management. Yogi is the prime reason for the continued "greening" of the College of Business Administration. He assists with plantings and makes sure that the plants thrive—even taking the initiative to secure a sprinkler to water and nourish a previously brown and "spotty" hillside on the college’s grounds.

Yogi is responsible for clean restrooms in the complex, and maintains the safety of the area by making sure the trees and ornamental plants are properly trimmed. A colleague was especially appreciative of Yogi’s assistance with the CBA book sale, which benefited the Hawai‘i Food Bank, and for his universally positive, cheerful and efficient approach to his assigned responsibilities.

The University of Hawai‘i at Manoa Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Service honors Manoa staff members who demonstrate outstanding work performance, service and leadership. Criteria include record of competence and efficiency, exceptional contribution in the attainment of program objectives, creative solutions to difficult problems, integrity and dedication to the mission of a program.
