Born in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, 1946, Kazuo Kadonaga’s work has been exhibited throughout the U.S., Japan, The Netherlands, Germany, Taiwan, Guam, Canada, Slovenia, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Sweden, and Denmark. He was an artist-in-residence at the Museum of Glass, Tacoma, and Pilchuck Glass School, Seattle, 2004, and at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, 1983.

I am more interested in exploring the inherent qualities of raw materials found in everyday life and developing systems that transform these materials into new forms naturally, rather than self-consciously creating beautiful "art" objects.
