Ron Kovatch was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1953. He has a BFA, 1976, from the Kansas City Art Institute and a MFA, 1987, from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He received a National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artist Fellowship, 1990, and Illinois Arts Council Visual Artist Fellowships, 1990, 1994, and 1996.
