Please join us for our OPHS Colloquium focusing on experiences from the Field with the United States Public Health Service (USPHS)

This special public health career opportunities presentation will include 6 USPHS career officers, including;

~CDR Richard Brostrom, MD, TB Control Branch Chief, Hawaii Department of Health (assigned by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, discussing TB surveillance, clinical care and prevention capacity in the USAPI jurisdictions;

~LT Eduardo Cua, PsyD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Tripler Army Medical Center, discussing Telebehavioral Health and Surge Support that is designed to provide behavioral health services to units for mandatory touch points in the Army Force Generation Cycle;

~LCDR Helen F. Ballantyne, RN, Medical Officer, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, will discuss her work as the Medical Officer on board a 224 ft NOAA research vessel;

~LT Joanne Spafford, APRN, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Federal Detention Center, Honolulu, discussing the prevalence of Hepatitis C among federal inmates in the Bureau of Prisons and how this public health issue is addressed in this unique setting;

~CAPT. Cathy Wasem, RN, USPHS; and

~LCDR Tai-Ho Chen, MD,U.S. Public Health Service, Quarantine Medical Officer, Div. of Global Migration & Quarantine,National Center for Emerging & Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, Centers for Disease & Prevention , CDC, Honolulu Quarantine Station
