Who: Teaching Assistant Training is mandatory for new TAs. Experienced TAs from several departments will be available throughout the training program.
What: Topics include: â€¢ Experienced TA panel â€¢ Undergraduate student panel on teaching and learning â€¢ Rights and responsibilities of TAs â€¢ Grading and assessing student work â€¢ Professional and ethical issues â€¢ Teaching in a multicultural environment â€¢ Facilitating effective discussions â€¢ Encouraging active learning among your students â€¢ Understanding learning styles â€¢ Fostering honest and productive relationships â€¢ And more!
When: TA trainings are held the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (unless Monday &/or Tuesday are holidays) the week before classes start each semester.
Where: TA training sessions will be held in Kuykendall Hall 101 auditorium or Kuykendall 106 Events Room & Gallery with breakout sessions to be announced.
