The Future of Hip Hop Summit: Art as Therapy & Community Building
April 30, 11:30am - 1:30pmMānoa Campus, Queen Lili‘uokalani Center for Student Services (QLC) 412
The third day of The Future of Hip Hop Summit will focus on Art as Therapy & Community Building. This workshop/forum will feature IslandFunder, Linda Kuo of Dancers Unlimited About The Goods, local hip hop group Super Groupers, and Rob & Dmvir of Zulu & BRK.
IslanderFunder is Hawai‘i’s premiere crowdfunding website, a local online marketing and fundraising platform, similar to international crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, but exclusively designed for Hawai‘i’s cultural/creative arts, nonprofits and startup projects. IslandFunder facilitates and innovates Hawai‘i’s growth toward a sustainable economy by providing an online platform that the people of the Hawaiian islands can use as a medium to garner awareness and funds for projects that they and their surrounding communities find most important.
Dancers Unlimited is a Hawai‘i-based company, providing a global network for dancers and artists to learn, collaborate, create, and give back to our communities.
Established in November 2012, About The Goods is an extension of partners Robin Taclas (DJ Revise), Jonathan Evangelista (TookHNLA) and Riana Stellburg (DJ Tittahbyte) who are active in Hawai‘i’s underground Hip Hop scene as photographers, DJs, and promoters. They are an art and retail space located in McCully. They are DJ’s, promoters, artists and sneakerheads in Honolulu. They aim to sell exclusive quality inventory only sold at our shop. They carry products that revolve around underground culture. They are about the goods.
