Honouliuli WWTP Facility Upgrades to Meet Full Secondary Requirements by 2024

Issue Covered:
The Honouliuli WWTP is the second largest WWTP on Oahu and is required to upgrade to full secondary treatment by 2024. It services one of the fastest growing regions of Oahu, which includes Kapolei, as well as the anticipated transit-oriented development along the rail line from UH-West Oahu to Aloha Stadium. This presentation will cover some of the major planning considerations including population growth and flow impacts, process selection, water quality and reuse, biosolids, odor control, site development planning, and renewable energy.
