Bollywood Afternoons: 'Piku' (2015)
November 5, 3:30pm - 5:45pmMānoa Campus, Sakamaki A-103

'Piku' is a quirky and charming family drama and comedy about a Bengali father-daughter duo living together in Delhi. Piku (Deepika Padukone) is an architect who finds her career and love life upset by the demands of her cranky hypochondriacal father Bhaskor (Amitabh Bachchan), whose erratic bowel movements and hilarious accounts of them bring chaos to both of their lives.
Complicating matters is a fraught relationship with the manager of a local taxi service, Rana (Irrfan Khan). However, when Bhaskor decides to sell the family home in Kolkata, Rana steps in to drive them, letting the odd threesome take their show on the road.
This is the fourth movie in the 14th UH Bollywood film series, running on occasional Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons this fall. For a copy of the full semester film series schedule, please see the contact information below.
