Bollywood Afternoons: 'Vicky Donor' (2012)
December 8, 3:30pm - 5:45pmMānoa Campus, Sakamaki A-103
'Vicky Donor' follows the antics of a young Punjabi man (Ayushmann Khurrana) who aspires to a better life in contemporary Delhi. His unusual "break" comes in the form of Dr. Chaddha, an infertility specialist who convinces Vicky of the lucrative potential of becoming a sperm donor.
Everything starts to turn for Vicky until he falls in love with a Bengali bank employee (Yami Gautam), setting up a fierce and funny cultural clash between the couple's parents, but also creating tension concerning his secret occupation. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film was a critical and box office hit.
This is the sixth and final film in the 14th UH Bollywood Film Series. We'll be back in Spring 2016 with another edition.
