The Center for Biographical Research presents "At the Edges of Empathy: Journalistic Ethics from Conflict Zones in Joe Saccoʻs Safe Area Gorazde and Sarah Gliddenʻs Rolling Blackouts." Eva C. Karpinski teaches feminist theory, autobiography studies, and translation studies at York University in Toronto. She is editor of Pens of Many Colours: A Canadian Reader, and co-editor of Trans/Acting Culture, Writing, and Memory: Essays in Honour of Barbara Godard. She is the author of Borrowed Tongues: Life Writing, Migration, and Translation (2012). She recently co-edited a special issue of a/b: Auto/Biography Studies on “Lives Outside the Lines: Gender and Genre.”
