Entrepreneurship Live with Assaf Karmon

February 18, 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Mānoa Campus, 2404 Maile Way, Room E-502 Add to Calendar

This Entrepreneurship Live event will feature Assaf Karmon, a recent MBA graduate who started to develop his business while in school and manages this growing startup today. Born in Israel, Assaf went on to study computer science at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Following college, he moved to the U.S. and worked for a few startups in New York City before relocating to Boston to work as an engineer at Nokia. Ultimately, his academic pursuits led him to the University of Hawaii where he earned his MBA through the Shidler College of Business. While in business school, he met his soon-to-be business partner, Tim Roy. Building a software business had always enticed Assaf. In their final semester of business school, he and Tim developed a business plan that would eventually launch TurnoverBnB, a premier tool for short-term rental hosts and cleaners to connect and automatically manage their vacation rental cleaning schedules. This event is free and open to UH students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the general public. Participants will hear about Assaf's experiences as an entrepreneur, and have the chance to ask questions. Due to the pandemic, in-person seating will be limited to the first 10 people. A Zoom link will be provided for online attendees. This speaker series is generously sponsored by First Insurance Company of Hawaii, and is being co-hosted with the Shidler College of Business Inter-Business Council.
