The field of language documentation has evolved along several dimensions. The current trend is to include a team of researchers and community members to document multilingual speech practices and prioritize the goals of the community. This webinar provides a snapshot of the Nasal speech community in southwest Sumatra and highlights how a team of researchers from the US and Indonesia are collaborating with members of the Nasal community to document their multilingual speech practices as well as develop resources for the maintenance of the Nasal language.
